Boils water fast but that's about it

This cooktop came with the house I bought. I bought new induction pots and pans to go with it. The first thing I noticed was that it boils water in record time. However I found a few issues that can't really be fixed because it just the nature of the cooktop. One thing is that if you get even a little bit of water or oil on the controls, the controls get a mind of their own and either change the temp on its own or it will just shut off. So if you are boiling water make sure to have towel handy to keep the cook top clean. The second thing is the controls themselves are hard to work. As I drag my finger to increase the temperature, it is hard to get it in the exact number you want. When you let go it will go up or down one notch and you have to try to get it back to the temp you want which is sometimes difficult. If you are someone who likes to make candy, stay far away from this cooktop. I make toffee around the holidays and this is the only cooktop ive used where it separates at higher temperatures. I think the induction causes the temperature to heat up too fast. Never had this problem with electric or gas stoves. The last thing I noticed is if the pan is slightly off from the magnetic circles, the cooktop will just shut off. I really hope this cooktop breaks soon so I can get an electric one.

Love induction cooking, Hate Samsung controls

induction cooking is great. cooktop doesn't get hot except for heat transferred back from the pan. heating is quick.
however, samsung controls are awful! magnet knob is useless, touch controls will not respond to wife's finger touch, water drops from lifting a lid can either shut it off or change temp setting to high.
title says it all!

Great looking stove, super quick when boiling water. Very easy to clean vs a gas stove. Controls are a little finicky but you get used to them. Automation when linked with the exhaust fan its neat.

Worst Customer Experience/Products Ever
Never Again

this cooktop broke after 2 years. they sent out 2 companies as a "1 time acommodation" both were terrible and had no clue what they were doing. after 3+ months and them approving an exhchage 4x, i still do not have a cooktop. its a contiounous circle of horrible customer service. ive been told the exchange is coming for months now and everytime i check up they say they cant do it and try to give me some ridiculous prorated refund. my kitch was designed around this samsung package and ive had issues with 3 out of 4 of my appliances in the first i would never recommend any of these products to anyome and pray that no one will ever have to go through this process that i have. dont ever buy this product or any of these appliances! i promise you will be dissappointed. 10k package of junk!

Bad design, cannot use with wet fingers

induction great; buttons = extremely poor design and very difficult to use, making the experience using this stove not plesant at all. if your fingers arent completely dry or a little liquid splashes on tbe dials- the stove can change the temperature on its own or just short circuit and reset in the middle of cooking.
had for 6 months - wanted to see if maybe it just took some adjustment on the way we cook, but it regularly continues to be a problem.

We love having induction and have no idea the quality of the induction compared to others as we changed over to ceramic so heating is so much quicker from our past experience. It looks great and works well and the long burner is great for a cast iron griddle. The only feature I do not like is how sensitive the on/off/power button which bugs me wI'm wiping up a spill. Sometimes it turns the entire cooktop off so I have to reset all the burners.

I have had this cooktop for almost a year and I love it!! I do not use the knob, I just use my finger to control the burners, I think it is easier that way, especially if I have multiple burners going on at the same time. I love how fast the power boost can boil water. It cleans so easily. I have never had a problem with any of my pots or pans connecting to the cooktop, and I love the select-a-size feature on some of the burners!

I bought it more than 1 year ago, it still looks and works well. Easy to use and clean. We like the power boost and simmer modes, and the virtual flame feature. Only drawback is the power control interface is finicky to use, either with touch or with the magnetic knob.

I was in between a gas cooktop or the induction. I'm so glad that i chose the induction, which has the same power or more as a gas cooktop with features from this century.
Another reason that made me chose the
induction over the gas is how easy is to clean which is done in 10% of the time of a gas
cooktop cleanup.
One of the best features is the boiling water in less than a minute, it saves you a lot of time.

Well even today, after contacting them about twenty times, the network connection doesn't do ANYTHING! Oh yeah, it is supposed to connect to the timer. You know, the one that you can't hear if you DON'T have it hooked up to some type of amplification device! They called back every day until they pushed it up to LEVEL 3, and then stopped calling! It still doesn't work. Guess it will stay defective. Well I won't try to get it repaired, I'll just use my Amazon Alexa as a timer. It is cheaper, louder and you don't have to play with an underglass print to get it set, you just have to speak! Well it is sad for them since they are loosing a customer for ALL the products, including a S20 Ultra that is sitting here not working.

I have been using the 36" cookstop for about a year now and overall very happy with it. The performance beats the old electric coil cooktop that it replaced. Although, the performance does varies with different induction approved pots and pans.
Like other reviewers, I found using my finger works better than the magnetic knob to adjust the "heat".
Cooktop touch controls are sensitive to water as others have pointed out. But unlike other reviewers, I don't have an issue with boiling over. My source of agony is with cleaning up splatters while it is cooking. It doesn't like damp cloths being wiped over the controls. IMO its a bit sensitive. But I guess I'll just have to get over my OCD. LOL
Connectivity features are not worth bragging about. It doesn't control anything, just monitors off/on.
Installation instructions were very good, One thing I do wish Samsung would do is to more clearly state (emphasize) the required electrical power requirements. My old electric cooktop was wired for 30 amps. The 36" requires minimum 45 amps. It isn't as easy as just changing circuit breakers, you will highly likely need to upgrade the electrical wires too. This all adds to the overall cost.

Easy cleaning, heat is precise, boil water in under a minute, but don't walk away if using power boost. Easier to adjust temp with finger than dial.
