This was a lifesaver during the heatwave here because our AC is having issues. The technology in this unit is so cool and it™™s nice having a remote and being able to use Google to command what to do. The size is perfect for our home and it™™s easy to maneuver also. The only tricky part was fitting and cutting the hose fitting.

I have been using this portable air conditioner in my detached garage. It is about 400 ft.² and it is able to cool and maintain a nice, comfortable temperature. I really like how sleek the unit looks. It was easy to get set up. I really like the top panel, no buttons, vent closes, very minimal. It does have a quiet mode which is nice as it can be a bit noisy but that™™s also expected with a portable unit. I™™m very happy with this ac unit, I can now enjoy my space without worrying about the heat.

The box isn't designed for storage (has a weaker ™"separated ™" bottom @ remainder of box isn't meant for storage = 5x worse than older design) ***I keep all packaging for off season storage to minimize damages*** keep everything together especially on shelves (need to carefully remove the nylon bands to keep together for repacking) *** GE manual @ also states to retain packaging for "storage purposes™ which nobody can truly perform (bottom base is a cheap cardboard edge & flat insert, styrofoam base with reinforced plastic corners = trash) then lid/upper is a simple box without reinforced edged (in past it was cardboard edges within the box) _____ 50/50 shipping, moreso onto GE = box was damaged ™" torn ™" due to zero handles and "weak" separated bottom held together by nylon bands ***cheaper box creates shipping issues especially without any grab handles @ arrived torn near bottom edges past the "bottom insert" = damages "leaked" upon arrival ______ (1x test use) Unit itself works 10 stars for physical performance. Negative is it's internal tank **leaks** without any interference ™" bypassing ™" expelling connections remaining closed (60 pints max = if ??? Pints it's starts to leak from base-main body framework) Compared to older GE portable AC it's mainly saves electric usage due to **INVERTER** design @ older versions are stronger with greater CFM for size (this 12k & compared 10k) ____ I expect this to last 5 years ™" but ™" it's simply trash due to box design (it won't last 2 years = resell & repurchase @ not worth overall costs) older boxes lifespan would equal the same 5 years ______ APP ITSELF IS USELESS = NO CONTROLS (just a manual) = will uninstall @ TODAY'S YOUTHS are "APP" fake orientation misguided (wow how hard is it to read MANUAL = included, online & misleading APP function)

I am so glad I got this portable AC for this summer to deal with the heat in California! This was very easy to install the hose through the window with minimal effort. I installed it myself without my husband's help because it is very lightweight and the instruction is very clear! It cools and heats super quickly within a couple minutes. Its size is very well fit a small room so I can use it in my office. I've been using it for a couple weeks now and it makes little noise even when it gets started for after a long day used. I love it!

This Portable AC has lots of nice features in one device. It™™s good to have these especially with this triple digit weather home AC often break down and it™™s good to have a back up or even if you need the extra boost. It provides good cool air and the ability to be able to control it with an app and remote is super handy. The wheels make it easy to move around too. The dehumidifier feature is a nice added touch.

The GE Profile is just what is needed in this desert heat. Although we have air conditioning, some of the rooms in the back of the house don't have vents. This portivle air conditioner doesn't take up much room and is easy to install. Cooled a small room with no problem. Look forward to using in the winter as a heater as well

I™™ve been really impressed with this GE profile 12000 BTU dual hose inverter portable AC unit with heat. It cooled my space quickly and the heating mode is just as effective so it™™s been great for year round. Use one of the biggest improvements over other portable AC units I™™ve owned is how much quieter it is, which was really important for my parents as well. The inverter compressor keeps the noise much lower and more consistent instead of constantly cycling on and off. The unit is definitely on the heavier side, but once it was set up the weight isn™™t really an issue anymore as it rolls easily on its casters. It also feels very well built and durable with solid construction, giving me confidence it™™ll last. maintenance seems simple too since the filters are easy to remove and clean, and I haven™™t had any issues with excessive condensation or upkeep. overall it™™s a premium portable unit. That™™s efficient, quiet, sturdy and well worth the investment. I would absolutely recommend it.ï¿¼

This GE Profile heat and cool portable air conditioner is a total life changer for us. Our house gets super hot during summer and we used to use central AC system. Great portable AC!! The GE portable Air Conditioner cools quickly, runs surprisingly quiet,and is much more efficient than older portable units. Do not buy this unit; it is inefficient and fails to cool at the capacity stated by the manufacturer. With the fan set to maximum, the unit continuously draws over 1200W, and this electrical load never drops. The lower fan modes consume less power, but they do not provide cooling at the advertised 12,000 BTU capacity. The unit does not function correctly in drying mode, as there is no discernible difference between the standard cooling mode (running at low fan speed) and the drying mode™"both operate at low fan speeds with low compressor RPMs. Consequently, while power consumption remains under 500W, the unit will never be able to cool a 550-square-foot room, contrary to the specifications listed on the box. Furthermore, the air conditioner is quite noisy at fan levels 2 and 3; the higher the fan speed, the louder the compressor becomes™"it is by no means a quiet unit, and it consumes more electricity when operating in high-speed mode. Finally, the "Turbo" mode makes absolutely no difference; it is functionally identical to simply setting the unit to standard cooling mode with the fan speed set to maximum. This unit does not feature the energy meter they advertise for verifying how many watts the air conditioner consumes.

Way quieter than my central AC

I'm using it in my apartment bedroom which use roughly 250 sq ft and gets blasted by afternoon sun. This thing drops the temp from 82 to 72 in under 15 minutes. The dual hose design actually matters in a small space. It isn™™t recycling hot air like my old single hose did. Noise wise, it™™s quiet enough to sleep through. Once it hits the set temp the inverter kicks down and it™™s just a low hum. I run it on low fan and it was optimum for my room. The heat mode is clutch for winter too, so I didn™™t need a separate space heater, I can't wait to try that mode in winters. The dehumidifier mode is not out any use in Arizona weather and it™™s still a chunky unit, so it takes up corner space, but the wheels make it easy to tuck it by the window. The remote is simple and I use the timer so it shuts off after I fall asleep. For an apartment bedroom, it cools fast, runs quiet, and pulls double duty. It's way quieter than my existing central air conditioning.

We received our new GE profile 12K BTU portable air conditioner two days ago. We unpacked it, put the hoses in the window, turned it on and we were greeted with a horrible rattling noise. We let it run for a while to see if it needed to settle in, but it continues on an intermittent basis. I contacted GE appliances, who told me they were sending an email so I could attach a video of the sound the machine was making. The email never came, and yes, I checked my spam box as well. I feel like I™™m getting the complete runaround. The item is brand new and I would like it replaced! Beware buyer as they tried to tell me this horrible rattle sound is normal. That™™s not what I call Customer Service! I have had a GE profile refrigerator for years and been very satisfied with their product line™¦ I don™™t know what™™s going on here?! Since I™™m getting no satisfaction or help from geappliance.com I™™m going to contact the General Manager, Customer Relations . I™™m not settling for a brand new appliance that makes this kind of noise, especially in our bedroom.

The unit was packaged very nicely and a breeze to set up. The Window Kit installation took a little time, but to be expected. The foam seals and pads were a nice inclusion. The instruction manual was easy to understand and the remote control is simple and user friendly. The Profile has performed flawlessly on this first day of use. I especially like the Turbo Mode for quick cooling and the Quiet Mode for a little less noise. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Installation went without a hitch. I did need to add a filler to my window for proper contact at the bottom sill. I installed the drain line to the power pump to remove the condensate water. Once I finished the installation, the unit turned on and began cooling immediately. I'm happy with the unit so far!

I ordered this unit to put on our enclosed back porch to cool and dehumidify that space so we can enjoy it in the hot Alabama summer. It works excellent and I am surprised that it does what is says when it comes to the water. I thought for sure how humid it is that the tank would fill up and I would possibly have to have a drain installed to deal with that issue, not the case. Very little water accumulates in the tank and it does a great job making that space comfortable. The controls are easy to use and it runs very quietly. It is convenient that it just plugs into a 110V power outlet and I will have to see how the electric bill is affected in a few months and how it performs in the winter as it gets cold. I am very happy with this purchase.
