The cooktop stop to work 1 month after installation for a few minutes. . They tried to repair it,but after 3 visits and 1 month later they change a piece and it works for 1 year but stop totally last week.. I'm under extended warranty for a few months, and I'm very concern about the next year without warranty and the possible loss of a cooktop of 3500$. It cost a lot and it is not reliable and they dont' want to give me extra time warranty. Also, it is costing me days of non working at job. It has to be count in the initial price if you want that cooktop.

Beware unprotected glass edges and control loss

The choice to not extend the trim over all sides of the cooktop is positively baffling. One of those risks you don™€™t recognize until it is too late. There is no way to protect the glass side edges. Ours broke when a glass fell over on it. The cooktop glass is tough enough in the center, but on an edge with a slight gap since it rests on the top and bottom trim; there™€™s just no chance. Also we experience intermittent periods when the controls quit functioning. Either they won™€™t turn on and none of the buttons work, or it won™€™t let us change power. Since there™€™s no on or off button we have to flip the breaker to reboot it.

We love this induction cooktop. It™€™s easy to clean and looks great! It has been easy to make the transition from gas to induction cooking. The only downside has been we™€™ve had to replace almost all of our pots, pans, woks, griddles, canners, stock pots, and skillets. It™€™s important to look for cookware that the reviews indicate it distributes the heat well for even cooking. The burners are laid out well for a 30™€ cooktop and I™€™m happy I got the gray cooktop so it blends nicely with the white countertop. My only wish is I had a 36™€ cabinet below so I could have a cooktop to fit more large pots.

What's that buzzing I hear?!

We've owned and loved two cafe refrigerators, a microwave, drip coffee maker, an induction range. When we moved we had to leave the fridge and range behind (that's why we've bought two refrigerators - bought another one for the new house). We loved our induction range so much we decided to replace the gas cooktop in our new house with a Cafe induction cooktop. The control interface on the cooktop for some of the functions is a bit clunky with slow response, but most of all this is a 3 star review instead of 5 because of the very annoying buzzing it makes when we go to a medium high or high setting. Our range didn't do this or make any noise at all. The "elements" all work and produce the instant heat induction is known for, but as loyal as I am to the Cafe brand, if I had it to do very again knowing what I know, I would have shopped for a different. For the first time, Cafe has let me down.

Replaced a ten year old Jenn Air glass cooktop that I was just tired of (and never really liked anyway) with this Cafe. I enjoy the stainless steel (silver) compared to the black and the clean look with no knobs. The precision of cooking with induction is fascinating: Precise temperature control similar to gas without the excess heat or the other risks associated with gas. Bridge burner is great, though the burners could be just a bit larger to cover more of the surface of the griddle I have. Really, the only downside so far is that the hum and buzz of the cooktop as it's working is much more noticeable than I thought it would be. But it works well, hopefully it holds up well too.

Pretty and fancy... Heats super fast. Expensive that you have to buy all new cookware. Top left burner controls, the up arrow doesn't work and I've had it for less than 3 months. It stopped working the other day in the middle of cooking something. I had to restart it multiple times. It also buzzes loud once in awhile - considerably louder than normal.

Stopped Working

Right now, I'd have to rate it as poor because it stopped working after a few weeks. I am still waiting to receive a repair part so the warranty service person can fix it. Before it stopped working, I was impressed with the speed and precision of cooking so I'm hoping it turns my opinion around once it's fixed.
